Shutdown network comp Help!
Jan 5 2008, 5:48 PM EST
Hello, i need some help on the network shutdown batch trick. I have full access to all of the computers on my network, which is appx 30 comps, and i want to be able to shutdown one of the computers on the network, or all at the end of the day, using a self-created batch file. I know i did it right, so heres my problem, once i entered the correct shutdown process for a specific IP address on my network, i get Access Denied. I am the administrator here, and i have access to admin accounts on every computer, can someone tell me why i am getting this error message and how i could fix it? Thank you in advance.

another way (in my opinion is much easier) way is to do this is just open cmd prompt and type in shutdown -i then another window will come up on your screen. Its the shutdown tool, select the computer off of the list of computers then leave your message and push ok. You can also adjust the time of shutdown. hope this helps you with your problem.

on school or library computers this often doesn't work as the admins have blocked off this option.
